TAE40116 Certificate IV In Training & Assessment 3 Critical Questions to ask an RTO before you Enrol

tae40116

Welcome to RAM Training Services. Most people come to us enquiring about the TAE40116 Cert IV in Training and Assessment due to one of two reasons.  Suddenly it has become a job requirement that they attain the golden ‘Piece of paper’ to continue their job or someone is looking to get into a training role themselves and would love to obtain the skills and knowledge to do the job effectively within their industry or workplace.

At RAM Training Services, we are very passionate about people developing the skills and knowledge to not only become competent in all critical areas of Training and Assessment but also giving you the slight edge as a graduate of our program.

You see for a long time we have noticed in the marketplace a tendency for trainers and assessors to still come out hungry for not just the day to day working knowledge of the VET sector, but also how to effectively engage any training audience powerfully, so that your message and your training content is not just heard but also implemented by your students.

Ultimately if you go through a Training and Assessment course and yet still struggle to speak in front of groups or are relying on PowerPoint to get your message across,  then that RTO hasn’t equipped you with the skills to truly empower an audience.

When someone is ‘shopping around’ quote unquote, for where to do their Training and Assessment program, the most common questions we get are:

  1. How much is it?
  2. How long will it take?
  3. How quickly can I get my certificate?

Sometimes we get the bonus question of ‘Is there much work involved?’

These are all certainly valid questions. However, one thing that prospective students often forget is that the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is a qualification that gives you the ability to create change in an audience, create real long-lasting change in individuals and naturally gives you the skills to assess performance. If delivered correctly it can be one of the most empowering ‘piece of paper /qualification’ that one ever attains.

So whichever RTO that you enrol and embark your study journey with, our simple advice is make sure that you ask them the following 3 questions:

  1. How much time is spent on presentation skills and audience engagement?
  2. Will I get multiple opportunities to receive feedback on my presentations?
  3. How much time is spent on real world RTO operations and getting me ready to be a trainer or assessor?

Any education that you undertake you must ask yourself what your purpose is for undertaking it. We appreciate that the job market might demand the piece of paper of you, but ultimately you need to focus on what is truly important. Will you walk out with the skills and knowledge to effectively work in the VET sector and help you create the change that you are looking to create in your industry.

The RTO/TAFE/enterprise training world are all riddled with challenges and navigating the maze of compliance standards, rules and regulations for training companies can be tricky for even the most senior training manager. We want to make sure that you as a Training and Assessment graduate, don’t just survive but thrive in the VET sector or in your workplace as a trainer and assessor.

If you would like to find out more about how our program works and the core focus points reach out and say hi via email or give us a call. We want to make sure that you get all your questions answered before you make the commitment as we know, enrolling in a life changing program like this isn’t an easy decision.
