Certificate III in Security Operations (Cash in transit, Bodyguard, Monitoring)

CPP30411 - Release 4

After you’ve completed your Certificate 2 in Security Operations, the next step is the Certificate 3 in Security Operations from the Brisbane, Southport or Mackay campus. This course provides you with the ability to perform more specialised security functions, such as Bodyguard and Cash in Transit. This course will also prepare you for middle management, supervisory and monitoring positions in the industry, and is a requirement for all airport security.

Please be aware that not all training companies offer the same course units in the Cert III course. When conducting your research into the program, check that the units required to add specific functions to your licence are included in the course, or you may be required to do additional training.

This 5-day blended delivery course does not include all of the units that you need to have in order to get your security licence – you must have already completed the Cert II or hold your security licence, in order to apply for your CIT (Cash in Transit), or Bodyguard licence, using the certificate from this particular course.  If you are not interested in having the extra CIT or Bodyguard functions on your licence, then you will be better off completing our 5-day blended Cert III course (a higher level of learning than the Cert II, including the management and supervisory units, and covers just the Unarmed and Crowd Control units), or the 5-day blended Cert II course – as either of these courses enables you to apply for your Unarmed & Crowd Control licence.  Please check out the relevant pages on our website for these courses.

Throughout this course, you will gain the knowledge and practical skills to work effectively as a security officer in areas including:

  • Shopping centres,
  • Control rooms,
  • Monitoring centres,
  • Cash in transit,
  • Nightclubs,
  • Events,
  • Building sites, and
  • Patrol.

Through a combination of theory and practical training, including role-plays and defence techniques, you will learn to perform the responsibilities of a security guard in a lawful, ethical and highly effective manner.  You will also be required to complete some external studies and activities.

We also offer a free face to face Q&A Session to all enrolled Security students twice a month at Southport, to assist with any questions students may have when completing home studies.
