About this Course
This is the course that you must complete to get your Qld security licence (unarmed). First Aid and the modules to get your crowd controller licence are also included in this course - free!
Are you looking for a change in career? Or maybe you just want to supplement your current income, with some extra work? Gain the knowledge and practical skills to work effective as a security officer in shopping centres, nightclubs, events, building sites, patrol and more. Through a combination of theory and practical, including role plays and defence techniques, you will learn to perform the responsibilities of a security guard in a lawful, ethical and highly effective manner.
RAM Training Services run a 4-day Face to Face delivered course, fortnightly out of Southport on the Gold Coast, and monthly at Woolloongabba in Brisbane, and Beenleigh. Cost is just $500. Add the 1-day Handcuffs & Batons course to extend your course to 5 days, for a total cost of just $600. (If you are interested in also completing the Cert III in Security Operations - please enquire about government funding available.)
We also run a Flexible Delivery course which involves 2-3 days of work from home and 2 Practical days in a classroom – this method is run fortnightly on the Gold Coast and monthly in Woolloongabba, Beenleigh, Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton and Gladstone. (If you already have a current Apply 1st Aid certificate, you may be able to use Recognition of Prior Learning which would mean you only need to attend 1 of the 2 classroom days.) Workbooks are available to download from this website upon booking in - students should allow 1 week prior to the 2 Practical days to have the book completed. You will need access to a printer for the workbooks, or they can be purchased from us for an additional $35 including postage. This course can also be run at your premises for group bookings, anywhere within Queensland. Note: north Qld locations automatically include the workbooks in the cost ($465).

Crowd Control Refresher Course
For security guards who already have their licence, and only need to complete 1 or 2 modules (usually CPPSEC3002A and/or CPPSEC3013A) for their licence renewal, these modules are completed on the last day of the full Certificate II in Security Operations course. Who Should Do This Course?
On successful completion of the course, providing you are 18 years of age at the time of applying, you are eligible to apply for your Security Officer (unarmed) Licence for general security work such as shopping centres, and patrol, and Crowd Control for working in licensed venues such as nightclubs and bars, and/or events.
